Keratolytics

These products contain skin softening acids to help breakdown thick, calloused or severely dry skin. I like using these for dry, rough skin of feet, hands, knees, and elbows. They are also great for smoothing out keratosis pilaris, or the rough and bumpy skin some people have on their upper arms and thighs. People with psoriasis may also like to use these to smooth out the plaques.

Amlactin Ultra Smoothing Intensely Hydrating Cream

This cream contains 15% lactic acid and is great for hands, elbows, and keratosis pilaris. If this cream is too strong and/or stings you can use their Amlactin Daily which contains 12% lactic acid instead.

CeraVe SA Cream for Rough and Bumpy Skin

This is a favorite for keratosis pilaris and contains 3% salicylic acid. It comes in a lotion as well.

SLMD Body Smoothing System

This is a pricier option but both the wash and the lotion contain glycolic acid to help smooth keratosis pilaris.
